Aerating your lawn is a process that reduces the amount of compaction of your grass and improves the quality of your root growth. The better the root growth system beneath the ground the better the quality of your grass above the ground. Aeration allows better penetration of needed oxygen, water and nutrients found in fertilizers to promote a thick, deep and strong root system.

This should be done twice a year.
